KDKA Sponsors Business Expo

Many stations talk about being involved in the community and that covers visits to hospitals, senior citizens’ homes and dog shelters, raising money for select charities and groups, airing PSAs and telling the listeners to recycle and return library books — all well and good works.

And then there’s Pittsburgh’s KDKA(AM). How many stations conduct regional business expositions to promote local and regional business opportunities along with inviting investors from out of town? KDKA does. The station is hosting its third Western Pennsylvania Marcellus Shale Expo and Town Hall Meeting on Thursday.

The day-long event is conducted with Range Resources, a business very interested in the region’s shale energy potential. Guests include shale industry professionals, a representative from the Pennsylvania Governor’s office, Pennsylvania state representatives Rep. Jim Christiana and Marc Gergely and others.

KDKA show hosts Robert Mangino and Mike Pintek will host discussions while Pintek will do a show remote from noon–3 p.m.
