Tyler Perry Cruises With Tom Joyner

TV and movie mogul Tyler Perry will hold auditions for an upcoming project on the 2014 Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage cruise, he reported recently on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

“Tom Joyner does this cruise every year to raise money for colleges and what was so fantastic about it is, he said this year, we’re gonna have someone be on your show,” Perry explained to Leno, referring to the nationally-syndicated radio talk show host’s annual public cruise. “So let them come and audition. Come on the cruise and let these people audition.”

On March 16, 2014, the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage will set sail from Miami to continue the “Ultimate Party with a Purpose,” which supports students attending historically black colleges and universities. The eight-night cruise’s entertainment will feature Kem, Robin Thicke, Nelly, Charlie Wilson, John Legend, Ice Cube, George Clinton, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Shaggy, Chante Moore and comedian Katt Williams.

Tom Joyner is the host of a nationally syndicated urban morning radio show airing in over 105 markets. Through his foundation, he has raised $60 million to support students in need since 1999.

Tom, good morning! When I found out about the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage cruise and the chance to audition for Mr. Tyler Perry, I made my reservation as fast as I could. I read up on you, and I am impressed by your work ethic, and the Way you went from rags to riches. I am most impressed by what you are doing to help colleges help kids to either go to college or to stay in school and get a degree. God bless you. I hope I can meet you on the cruise. Sincerely, Paula Amsden
