Sprint, Spotify, NextRadio — All Together

Sprint is going to bundle music service Spotify into its “Framily” plan, in which families and their friends group together for less expensive service. The NextRadio FM app is part of a package of music products, services, apps and access the carrier is now offering as well.

The Sprint-Spotify deal is similar to an agreement forged by AT&T and Beats Music in January.

Sprint hopes to gain new users with the offer of the free Spotify trial.

Starting May 2, all “Framily” customers will get a six-month trial of Spotify. Once the trial is over, they will get Spotify at a discounted rate.

Sprint also announced the release of its HTC One (M8) Harman Kardon edition, which contains the preloaded NextRadio FM app. The device will be available at the Sprint website starting this Friday and available in Sprint retail stores beginning next Friday, May 9.

The carrier also introduced a national entertainment platform –— Sprint Sound Sessions. NextRadio is part of the package that includes the free Spotify trial, a player for music tracks, albums, ringtones and “music Live,” what the carrier says is an “immersive and interactive” music experience.
