‘Digital Done Right’ on Display at Radio Show
IBiquity Digital’s theme for its booth at next week’s Radio Show is “Digital Done Right.”
The booth will stretch the entire back length of the exhibit floor, some 110 feet, according to spokesman Steve Baldacci.
He tells Radio World that seven cars will be in the booth, including the first vehicle from GM, a Chevy Traverse SUV, to include an HD Radio receiver featuring Artist Experience.
Aftermarket auto consumer electronics retailer Car Toys, which has a big Dallas presence, is bringing two custom vehicles. A spokesman will be in iBiquity’s booth to talk to broadcasters about the HD Radio retail experience. “Some broadcasters say when they walk into a store and the salespeople don’t know about” HD Radio, says Baldacci. The CarToys rep will explain to attendees how his company salespeople explain the concept in general, and how the digital radio technology works alongside streamed stations, Bluetooth capabilities and navigation systems in modern, large-screen in-dash communication/infotainment systems.
In the home and portable audio display area, attendees will see the first $49 tabletop HD Radio receivers, a Best Buy Insignia and an Audiovox. Other new models in that display list for under $50 and under $100 respectively, according to Baldacci.
TagStation from Emmis Interactive and Broadcast Electronics will demo updates and attendees will be able to listen to HD Alliance member stations in the market airing HD Radio signals.
During the show, iBiquity will hold periodic drawings for CarToys HD Radio merchandise valued at $600. Attendees drop their business card into a container at the booth for a chance to win.
