BBC 6 Music Confirms ‘The Huey Show’ for Another Two Years
|
BBC Radio
6 Music has retained “The Huey Show,” produced by Wise Buddah, for another two
years.
The music
program, which airs on BBC Radio 6Music each Sunday afternoon for three hours
and is hosted by Huey Morgan, will now run until 2014 thanks to the recent
contract extension.
In an
effort to increase the show’s popularity even more, the producers said they are
planning on augmenting its one-off music specials and also inviting more big
name guests in the studio.
“Listeners tend to tune in to “The Huey
Show” while they are cleaning, cooking or recovering from a night out and, as a
result, it has become a firm fixture in people’s Sunday afternoons,” said
producer Tom Whalley.
“In order to keep it that way, we’re going
to give them more of the things that they love and the things that evoke the
best reactions”, he said. “This means more one-off specials, like the ‘All
Vinyl’ show and the New York tribute show that went out on the 10th anniversary
of 9/11, and even more high profile guests.
