Blurt Updates

Blurt, something of an audio Twitter, has announced the availability of an embeddable player.

Co-founder Clark Burgard said, “This is an invaluable tool for individuals and organizations looking to provide timely information to their followers.” Obvious uses for radio broadcasters are to provide program updates, send messages to DJs’ followers, promote events, make emergency or news announcements and more.

The player, which can be embedded on social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter, according to the company, or a station’s website can display up to five playable messages. Each message can be 10 seconds.

Blurt’s original function is to deliver its “blurts” onto mobile devices, yet another useful marketing/listener relations tool for broadcasters.
