Clear Channel Promotes Laven

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment has promoted Michele Laven to president of Partnerships and Local Activation, and Clear Channel Dallas says Jay Shannon has been named program director for KDGE(FM) and KDMX(FM).

Laven will report to Tim Castelli, president of national sales, marketing and partnerships. In this newly created position, she will create strategic alliances and marketing programs with key distribution and content partners, while expanding the capacity of the company’s local market sales organizations to develop multimarket revenue opportunities, a release says.

Laven previously served as executive vice president of strategic partnerships and has been with the company for eight years. She is responsible for many of Clear Channel’s strategic partnerships and integrations including automotive, in-home entertainment, gaming consoles, smartphones and tablets. She also previously served as vice president of integrated media for Clear Channel Los Angeles and was responsible for advertising programs that connected on-air, online, mobile and on-location marketing solutions for advertisers. Prior to joining Clear Channel, Laven was president and chief operating officer of New Times Media.

In Dallas, Shannon will oversee programming operations for KDGE and KDMX, reporting to Clear Channel Dallas Vice President of Operations Patrick Davis.

He will join the market from Clear Channel Austin, where he has programmed multiple formats for more than 11 years. Shannon most recently served as vice president of operations for the Austin cluster. Shannon has also helped develop many national on-air personalities, including nationally-syndicated morning show host Bobby Bones.

Clear Channel Dallas owns and operates KEGL(FM), KDGE, KDMX, KHKS(FM), KZPS(FM) and  KFXR(AM).
