Discover Radio’s Top 10 Advertisers
Each quarter the Radio Advertising Bureau
reports overall estimated revenue for U.S. commercial radio stations (it was up
1% in the most recent quarter compared to a year earlier).
In doing so the organization also lists “the
advertisers contributing the most to radio’s bottom line.” Here’s the list for
the third quarter, in rank order by expenditure. RAB said seven of the 10 have
increased their spending.
RAB President/CEO Erica Farber released
a list of top advertiser categories, “led by Communications/Cellular with a
healthy 24% increase.” She said Automotive, Professional Services, Health Care
and Home Furnishings showed “substantial increases.” Automotive regained the top
category ranking in Q3 but communications “remains as a strong #2.”
