Fix It or Forget It?

Despite the widespread claim, the disposable society is not all-consuming. Some things do have to be maintained.

And with that in mind, Radio World’s Workbench columnist John Bisset will oversee, “Maintenance, Repair, and Troubleshooting,” an AES convention session, Oct. 19, 1:30–3 p.m.

Bisset, also director of Western Sales for The Telos Alliance radio division, will be joined by Michael Azzerello of CBS, Bill Sacks and Kimberly Sacks of Optimod Refurbishing. Bisset and his panelists will cover troubleshooting techniques and maintenance procedures that will fix the issue, and help ensure the problems won’t recur.

“Technology needs maintenance, but where do you learn the nuts and bolts of maintaining equipment?” Bisset asks.

He explains that the sessions will be an “exposé on the secrets to finding and fixing problems within the broadcast plant. Whether you maintain a full studio of equipment, or just a home studio, these tips will be invaluable.”

The 135th AES Convention is Oct. 17–20, in at the Jacob Javits Center in New York
