Georgia Joins Radio Talent System

The Georgia Association of Broadcasters is working with Dan Vallie and the National Radio Talent System to conduct another Radio talent Institute event, this one at the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communications.

The 10-day event for area college students began on Monday and will consist of sessions with working on-air radio pros and producers from most major radio companies — Beasley Broadcast, CBS Radio, Clear Channel, Cox Media, Cumulus Media, Lincoln Financial Media, Radio One and more, along with consultants. Though strong in on-air material, it is not exclusively focused on on-air/production careers.

Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication Dean Dr. Charles N. Davis said, “It’s important that we continue to build partnerships with industry, and this is the campus-to-career connection many students need.”

The program runs through June 25. It is aimed at upperclassmen and recent college graduates interested in a radio career. Additional Radio Talent Institutes in other parts of the country are under development.
