The chairman and CEO of General Motors Corp., Rick Wagoner, will deliver a keynote address at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show.

This will mark GM’s first keynote at CES, which returns to Las Vegas, Jan. 7–10, 2008.

Waggoner is set to speak Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 4:30 p.m. and discuss his vision for the growth of consumer technology in the auto industry.

CEA says the consumer technology and automotive industries continue to intertwine as consumers demand more innovation and functionality from in-vehicle electronics products, with this show serving as a launch pad for those products. In-vehicle technology continues to play a dominant role in the growth of the consumer technology industry, according to CEA, with total shipment revenues in the mobile video and navigation categories forecasted to increase by 41% in 2007, reaching nearly $2.3 billion.

Other keynoters include executives from Microsoft, Panasonic and Intel.
