Just Under 3,000 LPFM Applications Filed

Some 2,819 applications for low-power FM stations were filed in the FCC window.

LPFM consultants tipped Radio World to that fact.

Christian Community Broadcasters says the figure is less than the 3,258 applications filed in the first LPFM window in 2000–2001.

The applications are publicly searchable in the FCC’s electronic database.

Radio World contributor and LPFM applicant Dan Slentz explains how to search the FCC’s Consolidated Database System for LPFM filings.

Watching the FCC's Daily Digest each day to see what is happening with LPFM. Noticing some "CP's accepted for filing" (like an Elks Lodge in Piedmont, SC... could there be polka in the air and on the air in Piedmont soon?) :) Plus noticing many CP's being dismissed. Seems that right now the FCC is scanning the applications looking for common board members.
