Seattle Entercom station KISW(FM) has partnered with Mischief Distillery in the Fremont area of Seattle to create Worker’s No. 9 Vodka. With a portion of the net proceeds benefiting the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund, which assists firefighters and their families and also gives money to organizations that assist state residents.

“Hearts are the center cut — the very finest spirits produced during distillation,” said Mischief Distilling owner Mike Sherlock. “Hearts also symbolize the very best of the human spirit. For us, Fremont Mischief and Worker’s No. 9 Vodka are both.”

Worker’s No. 9 is composed of stone-ground grain from local fields and Mt. Rainier artesian water.

“This new vodka starts at the heart of the Pacific Northwest’s working man. A vodka created in the spirit of a true, honest day’s work, and we’re proud to support the brave Washington state Fire Fighters, who epitomize hard work,” said Dave Richards, program director at KISW.

“The proud members of the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters are extremely grateful that KISW and the Fremont Mischief Distillery have chosen us as a partner and beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from the sales of Worker’s No. 9 Vodka,” said WSCFF President Kelly Fox. “We share the desire to keep it local, build community and take care of each other.”

KISW also partners with Elysian Brewing and its Men’s Room Original Red ale, which has raised over $300,000 to the VA Puget Sound Fisher House and Ft. Lewis Fisher House in Washington.
