Le Radio on Tap for Paris

The annual Le Radio gathering is slated to take place Feb. 9–12 in Paris at the Etoile Saint-Honoré, near the Champs-Elysées, and in the vicinity of many of the large French radio groups.

While the traditional exhibition and conference will be held from Feb. 10–12, the organizers are also introducing a special event on Feb. 9, entitled Radio Zest 2013. During this day, explains Philippe Chapot, founder of Le Radio, 25 speakers will have one-and-a-half minutes per idea to present five ideas. The goal is to gather 125 innovative ideas in just a few hours so the approximately 200 radio professionals in attendance can select these concepts and apply accordingly to their businesses.

The three-day meeting, which will showcase various gear and services for radio stations, promises to delve deep into the world of radio with emphasis on new techniques and technologies for sound and image.

The event, says Chapot, will host a number of conferences and workshops on topics comprising programming, advertising, digital development, and technique. It will also allow attendees the possibility to exchange information among one another, and to network with the leaders to better understand tomorrow's radio.

Another new aspect of Le Radio 2013 is the Hot Share concept. During this session, four high-level radio managers will answer questions for 30 minutes from the audience or social networks. A moderator will list and ask the questions, which can also be anonymous. Frank Lanoux of NextRadioTV inspired the concept, says Chapot.
