Muuzii Provides Translation to ESPN Deportes Affiliates

Deportes Media LLC is using Muuzii to help bring its mobile translation and language learning services to U.S. Hispanic listeners.

Spanish language sports broadcasting group Deportes Media has ESPN Deportes affiliated radio stations in four of the largest Hispanic markets in the United States. The network provides content, services and entertainment specifically for Spanish-dominant U.S. residents.

Muuzii is using the Deportes Media audio, digital, and social media networks to build awareness of its Muuzii Message and Muuzii Speak solutions among Hispanic consumers looking for a simple, affordable way to communicate in and learn English. According to 2012 census data, 44% of U.S. Hispanics describe their language skills as “English spoken less than very well.”

Muuzii Message is a phone-based service that enables users to text a word or phrase in Spanish and receive a quick, accurate, colloquial English translation. Muuzii Speak provides an audio translation to help with correct pronunciation and language learning.

Sports radio personalities Xavier Olalde and Alberto Ferreiro will endorse Muuzii translation services across the Deportes platform — on air, online and in social media.

AT&T customers with a text-enabled cellphone can try Muuzii at www.muuzii.com.

Translation is necessary in the U.S. because of the large number of foreigners that live there. Taking steps to teach them English is really useful and will eventually help the U.S. save on costs for interpreters and translators for public institutions. Good on them.
