NAB Show to Hold Digital Strategies Exchange

For the second year, “Digital Strategies Exchange for Radio” (DSX4r) will return as a one-day program within the Broadcast Management Conference at the 2013 NAB Show. The three-session program focuses on the new technologies affecting radio broadcasting. In addition to an overview, it provides recommendations for non-technical local radio managers on how to best leverage these trends.

DSX4r 2013 will report on alternative delivery systems for radio content, including an examination of radio’s place within in-vehicle and handheld platforms. Strategies will also be shared for getting the most from on-air and online content in the current media landscape, and a management-centric view of upcoming trends.

“Platforms in Motion” is an up-to-the-minute report on alternative delivery systems for radio, including an overview of the current environment, a comprehensive look at radio’s place in automobiles and handheld devices. The session will also explore strategies for maximizing on-air and online content.

There will be a “Lunch Social.” This segment is planned as an interactive discussion of social media applications for radio will be held over lunch, hosted by radio consultant Holland Cooke. Attendees will be provided boxed lunches.

The last session is “Peering Over the Edge.” It is a management-focused look at what’s next for radio, including applications such as “Illustrated Radio” and “Service Following,” as well as a brief review of other ideas and a session summary.
