New Website for ABU General Assembly

The ABU General Assembly will be held Oct. 23–29 in Hanoi, Vietnam. To provide information for the event, the ABU has launched a website, which aggregates all of the details pertinent to the event.

The 50th General Assembly is being hosted by Vietnam Television (VTV), and the year’s theme is “Serving our Audience in the Digital Era.”

“We are asking everyone to make a ‘perspective shift’ from technology to audience,” said ABU Secretary-General Javad Mottaghi. “We will be asking how do we, as broadcasters — public and private, large and small, developing and highly developed — best serve our audiences in the digital age?”

Last year’s meeting in Korea had the best attendance in the organization’s history, and this year’s is projected to be even larger because the Union now has over 225 members.
