Pandora Media is staffing up.
Not long after hiring a satellite radio executive to head an automotive division, this week the company that provides personalized Internet radio service has hired a chief financial officer.
The company hired Steve Cakebread as its CFO; he begins his new position on March 15. Cakebread was president and chief strategy officer of salesforce.com, a customer relationship management service provider, from February 2008 to January 2009. Prior to that, Cakebread was senior vice president and chief financial officer at software company Autodesk from 1997 until 2002.
From 1992 until 1997, Cakebread was VP of finance for Silicon Graphics World Trade. Previous to that he held various roles at Hewlett Packard.
Pandora CEO Joe Kennedy said Cakebread "is the perfect person to lead the financial side as the company continues to grow."
