Radial Releases Laptop Interface

The StageBug SB-5 Sidewinder from Radial Engineering is yet another tool for the well-heeled remote engineer to keep in the toolkit.

The SB-5 is direct box designed for use with laptop/tablet computers or other playback device. Input is via a 1/8-inch connector.

As a typical DI it has 1/4-inch connectors for speaker outputs and it also has an XLR mono output as well. But the real point of the box is its 5-foot attached cable terminated in 1/8-inch connector that connects a laptop or tablet computer, recorder or music player.

Other features include a 15 dB pad, ground lift, a rubberized no-slip bottom, steel casing and an integrated cleat for wrapping the cable.

Radial President Peter Janis said, “With so many productions now using computers, we felt that the time had come to bring out an additional solution to our range.”
