Anytime you get John Hogan, Alfred Liggins, Dan Mason, Jeff Smulyan, Gary Stone and Farid Suleman in a room talking about our business, you’re likely to get a good snapshot of where the industry is headed. When it’s also a Webcast, lots of people can listen in.

Those six big industry execs are on the slate for an event organized by thinkLA, an organization in Southern California that formed when several ad companies merged in 2006.

The presenting sponsor is the Southern California Broadcasters Association; President Mary Beth Garber says clients and ad agencies “want to know what established media are doing to provide new media opportunities to ad agencies and clients.” The six companies own stations in the big L.A. market.

The CEOs will take part in a discussion called “Take it From the Top — Six CEOs Discuss the Status & Future of Audio-Anchored Advertising.” The panel will take place Thursday morning Jan. 31 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, moderated by a media planning executive for Deutsch LA.

It will also be Webcast of the event; the URL is to be posted at www.scba.com.
