Spike Scores a PD in Philly

With a name like Spike, he was destined to run a sports talk radio station.

And so it is for Spike Eskin, who is now the program director for CBS Radio’s WIP(FM) sports talk station in Philadelphia.

Eskin said, “My career in radio has taken me in many different directions, and has ultimately led me to a job that I feel like I was born to do, and am honored and humbled to have.”

Eskin’s been in the interim role for a short time. The previous PD, Jeff Sottolano was promoted to director of programming for CBS Radio earlier in the year.

Operations Manager Andy Bloom said, “In the three months that Spike has served in the role on a day-to-day basis he has proved that he can handle any task presented to him …”

Eskin has also been an on-air talent for WIP and KYW(AM/TV).
