StageTec Aurus and Nexus for BR

As part of a replacement of older first-generation digital Cantus consoles, German public broadcaster, Munich-based Bayerischer Rundfunk has taken delivery of new StageTec Aurus and Nexus systems.

Studio 1 and Studio 2, located in the main BR radio building, have been fully refurbished and upgraded to Aurus systems. BR uses each studio for diverse applications, ranging from jazz, chamber music and solo recordings to folk music and pop.

The studios also make use of the Nexus system, which StageTec says, is equipped with a special monitoring controller that allows the selection of any external device. It also controls phase inversion, stereo channel swapping for signals ranging from mono to 5.1.
