SVP & Russillo Get a Slacker Station

Among media companies with a presence in radio, ESPN is notable as one of the most active in exploring new platforms.

Thinking outside the arena, the sports content company is extending its partnership with Internet audio music service Slacker to create a branded “station” for the Slacker lineup called “Music from SVP & Russillo.”

Using ESPN radio talents Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo, “Music from SVP & Russillo” gives Slacker listeners a crack at tunes from the pair’s ESPN show. Van Pelt called music a central part of the duos radio show. Slacker has about 200 such “expert-curated, artist-hosted” stations.

The announcement was made by Mo Davenport, senior vice president of ESPN Audio, and Jack Isquith, senior vice president, strategic development and content programming for Slacker.

The content is free on Slacker for mobile devices, or on the Web.
