TAB Promotes Oscar Rodriguez to President

Texas Association of Broadcasters TAB Oscar Rodriguez

The Texas Association of Broadcasters has promoted vice president Oscar Rodriguez to president.

The action follows the recent death of former TAB President Ann Arnold.

Rodriguez has been with the association 18 years.

TAB Board Chair Mary Mike Hatcher of Bryan Broadcasting credited Rodriguez with being instrumental in every major legislative initiative the broadcast group has taken on in Austin, Texas and Washington, helping to make the lobbying organization “a respected powerhouse in both capitals.” Hatcher cited increased member services, an expanded convention and an improved financial position under his leadership.

Meanwhile, TAB has received many condolences on Arnold’s death and has set a memorial service for Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. The service will be in the Senate Chamber of the Texas State Capitol building with a reception immediately following the event in the Lieutenant Governor’s Reception Room.

TAB asks those planning to attend to RSVP via email. The organization says in lieu of flowers, plans are underway for a tribute to be announced later.
