Upcoming Deadline for APRE Award Nominations

Monday, March 3 is the deadline to submit nominations for the annual Engineering Achievement Award for the Association of Public Radio Engineers.

The honor is to be awarded to a single individual for “outstanding contributions” to the art and/or science of radio engineering that have made a “significant impact on, or improvement in” the state of public radio. Last year’s recipient was Michael LeClair, chief engineer for WBUR(FM), Boston. He’s also editor of Radio World Engineering Extra. In 2012, Mike Starling, then vice president, Technology Research Center & NPR Labs, was honored.

The award will be presented at the annual APRE Engineering Awards Dinner on April 4 as part of this year’s Public Radio Engineering Conference. The theme of this year’s event is “Engineering in an increasingly IP environment.” PREC 2014 takes place April 3–4 at Caesars Palace, in Las Vegas, concurrent with the PBS Tech-Con sessions and immediately preceding 2014 NAB Show.

Award nomination forms are online at: www.apre.us and questions go to Roger Karwoski.
