What’s It All About, TPEG?

With all due apologies deference to Dionne Warwick … the Travelers Information Services Association has updated its Transport Protocol Experts Group guide.

TPEG coordinates the development of transmission methods for “multimodal traffic and travel information, regardless of client type, location or required delivery,” a release explains.

That can include everything from road traffic reports to public transport information to parking information and it covers all manner of platforms — radio (analog and digital), Internet, mobile, etc. Additional matters such as scheduling, maps and security can be involved as well.

The latest guidelines, proposals and thoughts can be downloaded here.
