Marty Hadfield Recovering in Seattle Hospital

Marty Hadfield is recovering from a heart attack suffered over the weekend, according to his colleague Jim Dalke, who said the Clear Channel Seattle DOE is recovering at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

“When I visited Marty this afternoon, he was in good spirits and anxious to return to his engineering responsibilities,” Dalke said in an email to fellow engineers on the local SBE chapter remailer.

“His wife Catherine and his doctors may want him to slow down for a while however. The doctors are monitoring him closely and are optimistic about his full recovery.”

Hadfield has a long relationship with SBE Chapter 16. He joined Clear Channel in June after working as director of engineering for Alpha Broadcasting’s Portland, Ore., operations. He has spent his broadcast engineering career in the Northwest, starting in 1976, including 17 years as VP of engineering for Entercom Seattle.

Radio World joins Hadfield’s many industry friends in wishing him a full and healthy recovery.

Update: Jim Dalke reported that he had visited Hadfield Tuesday post-surgery, and that Marty hoped to be home in the next couple of days, and back to work next week.
