Tee Off to Remember Beeler in Vegas

Make time to honor memories for the 12th year

High-ho, high-ho, it’s off to golf we go … a scene from the 2011 event.

Scott Beeler’s life will once again be celebrated at the Revere at Anthem for the 12th Annual Memorial Golf outing.

In his email invitation, organizer Cam Eicher was pleased and a little incredulous that the event has continued for this long.

“Are we really getting that old? While we may not believe that so many years have passed, I do know for sure that we all look forward to this event to spend time connecting with people that we don’t get to see as often as we’d like,” Eicher wrote.

This year’s four-person scramble returns April 5 with a 7:30 a.m. tee time on the first day of the NAB Show, beating both the heat and the show crowds. Last year’s champions Michael Sharpstene, Scott Tucker, Adam Hall and Rich Loska are expected to take on the competition again at the Lexington course.

“While it is for a great cause, it also doubles as the only radio equipment exhibitor get-together at the NAB Show,” NewBay Media Video/Broadcast Group EVP Carmel King, a regular participant, noted. She oversees Radio World. She added, “A good crowd shows up to honor Scott’s memory and create new ones with industry partners, customers, competitors and friends. The golf is really secondary — the camaraderie — and okay, some cocktails — always come first!”

Eicher also encourages attendees to plan extra time for breakfast and lunch, if time permits, because he describes this time as ideal for “Scotty stories.”

Those interested must confirm with Eicher soon, and payment must arrive before March 7 in order to receive the special group rate. The entry fee is $140 per player, $560 per foursome — quite a deal, considering the normal greens fee for is $225 per person. Checks should be made out to Cam Eicher and mailed to:

Cam Eicher
6888 Clubside Drive
Loveland, OH 45140

Those who prefer to pay by credit card should contact Eicher for details, but plan to tack on an extra $5.

Rental clubs will also be available for $65 per golfer.

To RSVP or ask questions, call Eicher at 513-325-1444 or email him.
