Things You Might Not Have Seen

Dan rides along with the FCC and more

This edition of Off the Beaten Path is about things you may have never seen. We start off with the FCC “hunting pirates” and explore a few things that you might now have seen (or seen with an all new look).

Chasing Pirates
Ride along with the Federal Communications Commission on a pirate hunt.

Future Rides
It’s always interesting to see how the future of cars is perceived to look. Here’s some possible future rides for us.

Abandoned Record Factory
Records have made a comeback, but here’s a great look at an abandoned old record warehouse. I’m sure a few of us know a few collectors who’d love to rummage around this place!

Remastered Coke
Anyone who was at least a kid in the 1970s probably remembers the “I’d like to teach the world to sing” Coke commercial. Well, if you haven’t (or haven’t seen it in years), it’s been remastered with a beautiful new look to it!

And finally …

Kmart Radio
Really! As radio people, we may not have thought about the audio playing inside of Kmarts, but, yes, they called that “Kmart Radio” … and thank goodness someone preserved it! This is a strange but fascinating history of “store radio” and may take you back to being a kid and going in the store and hearing the music and getting the pitch.

If you stumble across a good or unusual web site that might be of interest, please don’t hesitate to send me the link and any info you might have about it. My email address is [email protected].
