KHJ’s New Face

Los Angeles legacy station now has a religious format; launch ceremony features celebrities and athletes

KHJ(AM), recently acquired by Immaculate Heart Radio from Liberman Broadcasting, is firing up its new Catholic format on Monday.

Leading the way is a kick-off event at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. There will be a blessing from Jose H. Gomez, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The celebration will move over to The Center at Cathedral Plaza. A public event there will feature the Archbishop throwing the switch.

Also involved in the launch are Los Angeles Dodgers play-by-play announcer Vin Scully, former Major League Baseball players Jeff Suppan and Mike Sweeney and actor/producer/singer Eduardo Verastegui.

President and Founder of Immaculate Heart Radio Doug Sherman said, “This is a huge milestone for Immaculate Heart Radio and for our family.”

KHJ has a sister Immaculate Heart station in San Diego, KCEO(AM).
