Otto Radio Signs Several Content Agreements

Content from CBS, ABC, Bloomberg, AP and AFP will be available across all digital platforms

Otto Radio has added audio news stories from CBS News, ABC News, Bloomberg, the Associated Press and global news agency AFP as part of a new set of content agreements.

The San Francisco-based startup is a curator of podcasts and audio news based on a listener’s interests; it was launched in 2015 by co-founders Yu Wang and Stanley Yuan. In the past half-year it received a venture capital investment boost from Samsung Group, launched an Otto Everywhere API and completed an integration with Uber.

In the latest announcement, examples of content now available include reports “Political Insights,” “Wall Street Now” and “Entertainment Updates” as well as podcasts like “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” from ABC News. CBS is providing its portfolio of podcasts from CNET.com as well as news shows “CBS News In Depth,” “Eye on Washington” and “Your Daily Dish;” “Bloomberg Surveillance” and “Bloomberg Markets” will be available through Otto Radio, as well as third-party entertainment properties like “The Hollywood Reporter” and “Billboard.”

Otto’s agreements with wire services AP and AFP will provide users access to breaking stories, domestic and world news and special coverage.

Otto Radio also recently created original content with its new shows “Tweeter-in-Chief,” which provides a daily audio transcription of President Trump’s tweets, and “90 Second Drill,” a sports show hosted by NBC Sports’ Dan Schwarzman.
