Verizon, AT&T Offer NextRadio Compatible Smartphones

Over 20 U.S. models now FM-enabled

There are more FM-enabled smartphones on the market and two additional models with FM enabled from carriers other than Sprint.

Verizon Wireless and AT&T have each released an FM-enabled smartphone compatible with the NextRadio app. Users of the HTC One remix and HTC Desire 610, respectively, can download the NextRadio app from Google Play Store.

This makes the third non-Sprint phone available for consumers compatible with the NextRadio app with the release of the HTC One M8 in May.

Sprint meanwhile, has released two more FM-ready phones in the market — the LG G3 (in “shine gold” from Sprint) and the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport featuring rubber grips and physical front face buttons.

The new models now bring the total number of NextRadio app-compatible smartphones on the market to 21. Emmis urges the industry to mention on-air, Tweet and post the fact that HTC phones are “crossing over to other carriers,” on the NextRadio blog.
