ESPN Audio, the operation overseeing ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes Radio, ESPN Podcasts and ESPNRadio.com, has launched an effort in conjunction with Internet audio service Slacker for “ESPN The Magazine.”
A release describes audio version of ESPN The Magazine as: “Related audio elements from the athletes themselves are showcased on the site in between songs as well as magazine photography. As each issue is released, the station will expand to showcase a growing playlist of elite athletes.”
ESPN Radio has announced a five-year play-by-play game coverage extension for KESN(FM), its ESPN Dallas station, with the Dallas Mavericks NBA basketball team. The extension includes a show for Coach Rick Carlisle along with a players show. It also includes an event — the Mavstoberfest, an exclusive meet and greet for players and fans.
KESN has been providing radio play-by-play for the Mavericks since 2001.
