Radio Pakistan Begins DRM+ Transition

Transition project is taking place at Broadcasting House in Islamabad

The move from AM and FM transmitters to DRM+ technology is currently underway in Pakistan, according to a recent report from Radio Pakistan.

With DRM technology, Radio Pakistan will be able to air three channels from a single transmitter, as well as provide listeners with access to text services. Radio Pakistan expects that the transition to DRM will be able to occur with little amendment to the AM/FM transmitters.

The transition project is being conducted from the Broadcasting House in Islamabad. Radio Pakistan’s Director General Khurshid Malik visited the project on Jan. 30, where he was briefed on its progress.
