In building its new Singapore production facility that houses all of its radio and television stations, MediaCorp has gone with Lawo’s VSM Broadcast control and monitoring system for campus-wide control.
MediaCorp’s 12 radio stations are housed in one of the new facility’s four sections and VSM provides the control and monitoring system for all of them, and keeps the cross-points of the stations two redundant Miranda routers in sync.
It also monitors the transmission chains for silent detect, alarm management and other functions. With the VSM TX control panel, operators can see the complete signal chain of all transmission chains and can access all lower levels of the chain, assigning studios and resources in accordance with availability, problems or failures.
Lawo says the VSM system gives MediaCorp a level of failure safety through its redundancy, supporting its flexibility, workflow management and the time savings made in program preparation.
