Radiodays Europe, set to get underway in Amsterdam March 19–21, will host a number of sessions, workshops and events.
Recently announced speakers include Menno Konigsberger, CEO of Talpa Radio in the Netherlands; Stephanie Hirst, U.K. radio DJ; Tony Thomas, chief marketing and digital officer at NOVA in Australia; Jan-Willem Roodbeen, DJ at NPO Radio 2, Netherlands; Dylan Keefe, director of sound design for “Radio Lab”, WNYC in the U.S.; Adrian Feuerbacher, deputy editor-in-chief, NDR Info, Germany; and Naja Nielsen, head of news for DR in Denmark.
Among sessions will be “First Shut Down of FM for DAB+. How Did it Go?,” which features Norway’s Marius Lillelin, NRK head of radio, Kenneth Andersen, head of P4/MTG, and Jacqueline Bierhorst, director, Digital Radio NL, and will focus on the aftermath of Norway’s shutdown of its FM stations in favor of DAB+.
This year the event will offer simultaneous translations in the Auditorium Track 1 both Monday and Tuesday, from English to French. Translations will also be offered from English to Russian thanks to the Russian Radio Academy.
In addition, the organizers, in collaboration with cosponsors DAVID Systems and Swedish Radio, have announced the NextGen17 winners. These five young radio professionals will come to the 2017 RadioDays Europe conference to share ideas, network and further develop their radio careers.
The winners are: Joanna Alencar Baban, Germany, AFK M94.5; Suzan Arslan, Sweden, Swedish Radio; Chloe English, U.K., Roundhouse Radio; Adebola Adebanjo, Nigeria, freelance; and Slim Jones, U.K., East London Radio.
RadioDays Europe will also host two Fast & Curious Networking sessions on Sunday and Monday during the show. The sessions will feature 10 tables with 10 moderators discussing a particular topic for 10 minute discussion before participants move on to another table and visit as many table as possible in the hour time frame.
A technical exhibition will run simultaneous to the conference sessions.
