The Association of Public Radio Engineers has chosen KQED(FM/TV) Chief Technology Officer Dan Mansergh as recipient of its 2017 APRE Engineering Achievement Award.
The award is for meritorious service to public radio engineering.
APRE President Dan Houg said, “Dan’s meritorious service in the field of public broadcasting stands on its own in addition to his contributions to engineering societies and professional publications. It is with particular pleasure that we are able to honor his achievements as he is also a founding member of the Association of Public Radio Engineers, which continues today in large part due to the framework that he was instrumental in developing.”
Mansergh has been with the San Francisco-based organization since 2000, starting as director of radio engineering. He has since branched out into overseeing web services and television duties. Previously, he worked for engineering consultancy Hammett & Edison.
Mansergh also has a past with APRE serving as a co-founder and past president. In addition he also serves as chairman of the National Radio Systems Committee RBDS Subcommittee.
Mansergh will receive his award at the Public Radio Engineers Conference Dinner, April 21, preceding the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
