Crown Broadcast Updates RFBA Triple Receiver

Manufacturer also now allies with Ecreso

Crown Broadcast will come to the spring show with the RFBA-1 AM/FM/WR triple tuner, a DSP-based product that it says fills the need for EAS monitoring and AM/FM translator composite output into an FM transmitter.

Crown says the RFBA-1 is one of the most selective and sensitive receivers on the market, and that it offers full Internet command and control. The RFBA was developed by Crown’s design partner Chrisso Technologies.

RFBA-1 has been upgraded to monitor the public service band (144–175 MHz). In addition, it can be upgraded to a highly-accurate modulation analyzer on all three tuners. Modulation monitor shows total deviation, positive/negative deviation, L/R/L+R/L-R audio levels, stereo modulation analysis, pilot, SCA and RDS amplitude and multipath analysis. The optional modulation monitor is available for a free short-term trial.

Crown is also showing the CT-1 AM/FM internal receiver, a DSP-based AM/FM internal translator receiver. Crown Broadcast R Model translators come with the CT-1 as a standard feature. The CT-1 is also available as a drop-in replacement in older Crown Broadcast transmitters from 30 to 600 watts.

Crown also will discuss its new alliance with WorldCast for the Ecreso line of transmitters. The company will handle U.S. sales, service and support of Ecreso transmitters, and they will cooperate in developing products.
