IBC Sneak Peek: d:screet Necklace Mics Enable Do-It-Yourselfers

Body-worn mic enable sound quality in the hands of non-technicians

Danish Professional Audio has designed jewelry with a practical application for broadcasters, the d:screet Omnidirectional Miniature Necklace Microphone. It will be on display at the upcoming IBC2014 show.

The new setup houses the d:screet 4061 Omnidirectional Miniature Capsule in a soft rubber necklace and will take the pressure off non-technical broadcasters in remote settings.

“The necklace design ensures that the microphone sits in exactly the same place on the body every time, so there is no need for EQ-ing between different recordings,” said DPA CEO Christian Poulsen.

The mic is available in black, white and brown and in lengths of 47 or 53 centimeters (18.3 or 20.9 inches).

Also on offer will be the new d:screet 4060 omnidirectional miniature microphones and the d:screet 4060 omnidirectional miniature mics with reinforced cable relief. Also new, the d:fine 66 and 88 headset microphones are designed for hands-free use.

Booth visitors may enter to win a d:screet Miniature or d:fine Headset Microphone at the daily 5 p.m. prize drawing.
