IBC Sneak Peek: New Stereo Generator for Wheatstone

Manufacturer also adds to IP products line

Wheatstone brings to the IBC show in Amsterdam a new stereo generator. The company says the SG-192 is “capable of passing full AES MPX composite baseband to the exciter, including RDS and SCA up to 67 kHz, and is equipped with an intelligent stereo multipath controller which helps mitigate the effects of multipath-induced receiver blending.” Wheatstone’s baseband192 composite digital link technology is built in.

It can also be used with legacy analog equipment and installed for translator or repeater missions.

The Wheatstone IP16 is a networkable control surface-style console similar to the IP12. It operates through the company’s WheatNet IP network. Each channel has a 100 mm fader, LED scribble strip along with lighted bus assignment, cue/talkback and on/off switches.

The master section has control room, studio and headphone controls with source selector, and headphone jack, timer controls, a master talkback button, and a built-in cue speaker controls. There are four event switches and six programmable buttons available for user functions.

The meter bridge offers 30-segment LED meters, timer readout and speaker.

Wheatstone also added to its IP-networked controllers with TS-4 and TS-22 Talent Stations. The TS-4 could almost fit on the arm of a chair. It provides lighted on/off/cough and talkback switches for a single talent microphone. A rotary headphone source selector is provided along with an OLED display for identifying the selected source. The source selector doubles as a volume control.

The larger TS-22 also provides lighted on/off/cough and talkback switches for a single talent microphone; rotary headphone source selector along with an OLED display for identifying the selected source. It adds six programmable soft buttons, an A/B source selector and an onboard speaker.

Both are compatible with WheatNet networks.
