Several CBS HD2 Channels to Carry Phoenix Concert

Band will perform first at KROQ’s HD Radio Sound Space

Several CBS Radio-owned stations will carry a concert on their HD2 channels; HD Radio developer DTS is calling attention to the package as part of its efforts to promote HD Radio and demonstrate the possibilities of digital multicast channels for broadcasters.

Rock band Phoenix has been announced as the next group to headline the “HD Radio Sound Space” at KROQ(FM) in Los Angeles, according to a press release.

Phoenix will perform live June 9 at 4:45 p.m. (PT) with a 6 p.m. broadcast on KROQ’s HD2 channel (available in Los Angeles) and webcast.

Then on June 16 at 5 p.m. (ET), CBS stations in New York, Baltimore, Boston and Orlando, Fla., will air the recording of the performance. The respective stations carrying the content on their own HD2 channels are WBMP, WWMX, WBZ and WOCL.

Other artists who have performed at the Sound Space include Kaleo, Cold War Kids, Green Day and the Lumineers.
