Beasley Helping Out for Harvey

Charlotte cluster fills six tractor trailers; next up, Irma?

Beasley Media’s Charlotte, N.C., cluster braved the rain to get out, collect and pack items for folks down in Hurricane Harvey-afflicted coastal Texas.

Called “Truckloads for Texas,” the effort filled six big semi-trailers full of goods such as bottled water, batteries, first aid supplies, formula, mosquito repellent, towels and toiletries. According to Beasley $2.8 million worth of supplies totaling 350 tons were collected.

Local businesses and charities participated along with staff from radio stations WPEG(FM), WBAV(FM), WKQC(FM/HD), WNKS(FM) and WSOC(FM).
