ABA Engineering Academy Rings Its Bell

Radio and TV sessions scheduled for August

The Alabama Broadcaster Association has scheduled several broadcast engineering educational course for the month of August.

The ABA Engineering Academy — Radio Engineering class is scheduled for Aug. 5–9. Instruction is expected to fall under these categories: Basic Electronics, Audio Fundamentals, AM Transmission, FM Transmission and Studio Operation.

The TV section is Aug. 19–23. Its outline is: Basic Electronics, Audio Fundamentals, TV Transmission and Studio Operation.

Both sequences will be held at the ABA’s training center in Hoover, Ala. An SBE certification exam will be given after the training for those interested. The classes are free.

In addition, the ABA will also be holding an “Engineering Day” at its upcoming annual convention on Aug. 17, in Birmingham. Engineering Day will include technical seminars from companies such as Nautel, Vizrt and Alabama Power.
