ABA Prepares Emergency Preparation Survey

Survey sizes up station emergency response capabilities and facilities

The Alabama Broadcasters Association is urging its members to complete a survey of their stations’ emergency preparedness capabilities and facilities.

The circulation of the survey was prompted by a meeting of the Central United States Earthquake Consortium. At the meeting were representatives of a number of groups, companies, government entities and associations like the ABA.

While the impetus of the survey is a major earthquake — the New Madrid fault is in the region — much of the survey material is applicable to any emergency situation. The ABA asks that its members complete the 25-question survey by April 28.
