Beasley Media Group is modifying its operations by creating “Format Captains” to oversee corporate-wide programming formats.
The first captains are: WMMR(FM)/WMGK(FM) Program Director Bill Weston, Rock; Boston Operations Manager and WMJX(FM)/WBQT(FM) Program Director Cadillac Jack, CHR/AC; Las Vegas Operations Manager and KOAS(FM)/KVGS(FM) Program Director John Candelaria, urban; and Charlotte Operations Manager and WSOC(FM)/WBCN(FM) Program Director DJ Stout, country.
Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley said, “This is the next step in the evolution of Beasley’s new programming structure. … The Format Captain positions will serve as another valuable layer of corporate resources for our stations.”
Executive Vice President of Programming Justin Chase explained, “Not only will these programmers offer additional insight and assistance for our other PDs, they will also create more synergy and leverage in order to better compete in the markets we serve.”
