CBS Radio Debuts Vet-Oriented Programming

Programs, website aim at providing info and support

CBS Radio is jumping on the veterans bandwagon in a big way — with programming and a website.

Called “CBS Radio Presents ConnectingVets.com … Connecting Vets Every Day,” it is described as “a national, multimedia resource linking military veterans and their families to relevant information, resources, solutions and, most importantly, each other.”

According to a release, “The content will be produced and presented by fellow vets who understand the complexity and stages of transitioning from the military ranks back into civilian life. It will cover such important topics as health and fitness, employment and entrepreneurialism, education, finance, and issues particularly impacting female veterans and veterans’ families.”

Audio available will be live programming and podcasts along with videos. A Washington-based team will generate original content including news and features from the Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs, Congress and agencies throughout Washington.

Reporting personnel will include actual veterans such as former Marine Chas Henry, a managing editor at CBS Radio.
