CBS Radio Los Angeles Gets New SVP, Market Manager

David Kearney leaves Cox

Daniel Kearney has been named senior vice president and market manager, CBS Radio Los Angeles. He will oversee all operations of the division’s cluster of six radio stations, beginning Sept. 3. 

Kearney will report to President and CEO Dan Mason and work with Senior Vice President and Director of Sales Peter Bowen and Senior Vice President of Programming Kevin Weatherly.

Kearney most recently served as vice president and market manager for Cox Media Group in Miami. He joined Cox in 1998 as local sales manager for KFI(AM) in Los Angeles, where he worked for nearly two years before transferring to Atlanta to take on the general sales manager role for Cox’s WSB(AM).

Kearney spent 1999–2005 in the nation’s ninth ranked radio market leading sales for WSB(AM). He went on to add general manager responsibilities for WSB(FM), WBTS(FM), WSRV(FM) and WSB(AM). In April 2009, he was named vice president of sales/co-market manager for the four-station cluster. He was named vice president and market manager in July 2010.

CBS Radio owns and operates all-news KNX(AM), top 40 KAMP(FM), adult hits KCBS(FM), alt rock KROQ(FM), classic hits KRTH(FM) and AC KTWV(FM).
