The Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting has announced that former BBG Governor Susan McCue is joining its advisory board.
“It is no surprise to us at CUSIB that Susan McCue will remain dedicated to the cause of excellence in journalism and support for the work of the news reporting staff among BBG’s media entities,” said Ann Noonan, CUSIB’s executive director and co-founder. “Susan McCue’s vigilance and integrity were instrumental with righting the ship at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in 2012— and with helping to save the jobs of many Radio Liberty journalists in Russia.”
McCue was selected by President Obama to serve as a member of the Millennium Challenge Corp.’s Board of Directors, and her nomination was recently approved by the U.S. Senate.
She was appointed to serve as a governor at the Broadcasting Board of Governors in 2010. She also serves as president of Message Global, a strategic advocacy firm she founded in 2008 to advance social action campaigns. She is currently vice chair of Humanity United and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
McCue was the founding president and CEO of anti-poverty activist group The ONE Campaign and was chief of staff to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid from 1999 to 2007. Additionally, McCue has held numerous communications positions in government and campaigns.
The Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting is an independent, nongovernmental organization that supports free flow of uncensored news from the United States to countries without free media.
