Elvis Duran to Enter Broadcasting Hall of Fame

He will be inducted April 9 during the Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner

The National Association of Broadcasters will induct Elvis Duran — no known relation to either the famous performer or the music group — into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

The nationally-syndicated radio personality will be honored during the new Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner, which will be held April 9 at the Encore. In addition, two long-running and popular game shows, “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!,” will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the dinner.

Previous inductees include Delilah, Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg, KROQ’s Kevin and Bean, Steve Harvey, Dave Ramsey, Bob Uecker, Gerry House, Ron Chapman and Vin Scully.

Distributed by Premiere Radio Networks “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” is broadcast from New York’s WHTZ(FM). The show highlights entertainment and pop culture news, celebrity guests and music. The show airs on over 80 radio stations nationwide, as well as XM Satellite Radio, iHeartRadio and The Elvis Duran Channel at ElvisDuran.com.

Duran’s radio career spans more than 30 years and includes both host and program director duties at iHeartMedia’s WIOQ(FM) Philadelphia and KBest Media’s KBTS(FM) Austin, as well as stints at Entercom’s WZGC(FM) Atlanta and Cumulus’ KRBE(FM) Houston. His daily radio show was syndicated in 2009 by Premiere Networks. His role expanded in 2012 to included talent and programming development, as well as serving as a spokesperson for the company.

Duran supports nonprofit organizations providing care and enrichment for children and animals. He also champions causes fighting poverty and hunger and is an LGBT advocate.

“Elvis Duran represents great radio. He has endured as one of America’s top radio talents and gets high ratings in syndication as well,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. “We are honored to recognize his successful radio career and add him to our distinguished NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame.”
