Chuck Gratner
Salem Communications Corp. has announced that Pittsburgh General Manager Chuck Gratner is retiring July 1, after 50 years in radio. He will be replaced by the Pittsburgh General Sales Manager Tom Lemmon.
Gratner has worked for Salem Communications for the last 23 years, managing the Pittsburgh cluster, which includes WORD(FM) and WPIT(AM).
Gratner’s career includes time at KRLD(FM), KCBI(FM) and KLTY(FM) in Dallas; KCRA TV/radio and KROY(AM) in Sacramento, Calif. He was also part owner of KCNO(AM) in Grass Valley, Calif. His first job was on-air at KNJO(FM) in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He has worked as on-air talent, seller, program director, GM and part-owner.
Lemmon has never worked for another company other than Salem, where he has been employed for 12 years, subtracting when he left to serve as a pastor for a few years. He originally began as an account executive and moved up to GSM.
